THE BIG BREAK !!
Now with 20 of the 41 boxes being Baseball - All 2008 Prime Cuts!!
I'll preface this by saying YES I am indeed new to FCB but I am a long time Group Box Breaker and have references aplenty if you have any doubts as to the way this break will be run. I have a few hundred high end group breaks on my Youtube account (Crpalmi is my ID) if you want to check them out and can refer you to various sites where I have been much more involved. I happen to like the way FCB is proceeding as a Box Break site in addition to the trading so I thought I'd try to include you all in on this. If we gain some members I'll gladly have FCB as the host site to this break -- the biggest group break on the web!
This is your chance to be included in Biggest Multi-Sport Group Break EVER! A chance to put collectors of a couple different sports together in a break that will encourage trading of slots and strategy aplenty to make sure you get the box you want...and a break that allows you to pick and choose from among 41 high end loaded boxes to select the box that you want rather than be at the mercy of the pack gods by being stuck with whatever cards you get in a box if you were to purchase it on your own!
No, this is not overcompensation for any personal shortcomings (I figured I'd get that joke out of the way before someone eluded to that) but I feel it's time for the biggest break ever organized by the Boxbreakers group! Close to $10,000 in cards in one group break covering two sports of Football and Baseball. This Multi-Sport break will be a totally different format and will not be divided by teams. Here's how it works; You participate in the break by purchasing a draft slot ranging from $115 for 41st pick to the number 1 pick at $610. Once all slots are filled and payments received we bust 41 high end boxes (product list posted below) from among the 2 sports listed. Once all are broken and highlights of the contents listed, you then get to pick which box you want to claim based on when it's your pick in the draft to select. Simply put the person that paid the most (slot#1) gets to choose from among all 41 boxes (already having seen al the contents) and they get that box with every card that comes in it. Then the person with slot #2 gets to pick from among the remaining 40 boxes that are left, and they get that box...and so on down the draft order. Strategy plays a part here as well. Because we will have boxes from 2 sports included you may not know if the person ahead of you will take the BB box you really want and it will hopefully promote some opportunities to "trade up" if there's a box you really want to go after. If mostly FB guys are at the top the best BB box might fall all the way down to pick 10 or 12? You just never know which makes this not only a fun break to watch but also a fun draft experience! You think the top slot is spendy? Can you imagine having the top pick and choosing between a Gehrig or Ruth Cut Auto, a RC Auto Patch of Bush, Cutler, Peterson, Ryan, Forte, or any FB RC star of the last 3 years? Not to say we'll hit all those as every case can't be the best ever but what are the odds that we won't hit something spectacular in at least a few of these cases? A third of the slots are priced less than it costs to buy the cheapest box on the product list. Heck if you go out an buy a box of Exquisite or 08NT your already paying what it would cost to get a very high pick to get a choice in which box you will get rather than being stuck with the one you buy by yourself. One recommended strategy is to take a fairly high slot and combine it with a lower end slot in case you see a box you want to go after and with the extra slot you may have an easier time trading up to get it? Or if you are targeting a certain product you may want to be realistic and pick a draft slot that is priced around the same as that product costs. In other words...don't expect to pick up an Exquisite box with a $200 slot. It may happen, but be realistic about the slot you choose. The sum of funds collected equals the cost of the boxes plus $13 per slot for paypal and shipping fees to ship the whole contents of the box. To save on shipping they will be sent without the extra packaging of the larger box. In other words you'll get every card in the box but may not get the actual box packaging. All the breaks will appear on Youtube and then will be posted with scans of each boxes highlights here on FCB followed by a big draft based on what slots you have purchased. I realize with the new format there may be questions so please let me know if I can clarify anything. Here are the hard details;
