Just saw the article and came over here to check in on the reaction. Did any of the FCB staff or members see him there? Was the Pacino picture done by the same guy as the infamous lion?!

That was a great article. Awesome pictures too. His commentary on his pics is priceless.

This is my favorite

There's a lot of old sports equipment at the convention. I don't totally get this market. "Good news, honey, I bought a catcher's mask from 1898. When I put it on, I look like Hannibal Lecter. You're gonna love it …"

I actually remember seeing him walking around. I had no clue who he was but I remember the North Dakota shirt. I think he came by our booth a time or two. And yes, the Pacino was done by the purple Lion guy.

I wish I had been there, I would've totally recognized him. His columns and podcasts are unbelievably enjoyable, we definitely need to get him next year.

I would think it would be awesome to have him at the booth. However, its not my call. There are a handful of folks ahead of me in the decision making line.

I agree. He's a great writer. His stuff is pretty funny generally.

I'm sure I would have recognized him too. I'd have probably followed him around a while muttering, "I know that guy" and thinking we went to college together or something, but eventually it would've come to me.

I would have recognized him as well AND I think we should try to get him at the booth next year.

Even if it is just for a hilarious podcast.

Sidebar: Anyone else glad he is stepping down from ESPN the Mag to solely work on his podcasts and internet column? I couldn't be happier.

Only because his mag columns really did start to read more like an obligation. But, I agree with you.

Those of you that were there, check your photos - maybe you got him in the background on some of them. If you haven't already, I'd also check out the stuff he posted - maybe there's a board member lurking in one of his shots.

Thanks for posting the link. That was a great read. I agree with almost 100% of what he wrote.
