Bob Gainey is out in Montreal!

"Steps down" as Habs GM today. Maybe Patrick Roy will be hired? Since Gainey drafted Carey Price and was a big fan of his, does this also mean Price's days are numbered in Montreal?

seems like a strange time to step down. Price was probably already on his way out but this pretty much makes it a lock. Halak has been playing better goal all season and I am sure they will get a good return for Price.

Gainey loves Price, Martin loves Halak. Something had to give. I think he was told step down or be fired.

nothing like listening to Montreal's club president saying it should be quite easy to find a replacement for Gainey as he must speak french primarily, and "that narrows down the field of candidates considerably"

This is also how the new coach was chosen. All because he thinks that 2/3 - 3/4 of his fanbase is french. What about the rest of the damn world???

Whatever happened to the best person for the job? Just because a guy like Yzerman isn't bilingual he won't be considered???
