Prince Fielder hit 28 HRs in 648 PAs in his rookie season at 22 years old, for an average of 1 HR every 23 plate appearances.

Mike Stanton hit 22 HRs in 396 PAs in his rookie season at 20 years old, for an average of 1 HR every 18 plate appearances.

This shows us that Stanton is already a more prolific HR hitter at age 20 than Fielder was at age 22. Prince Fielder hit 50 HRs in his second season at age 23. I think it is fair to say that Mike Stanton could certainly hit 50+ HRs in a season by age 22.

Can anyone here see in this post where A) I compared Michael Stanton's career with the career of Prince Fielder, B) I stated that Michael Stanton would hit 50 homeruns in a season? Thank you in advance.

Dude, I thought you were just dancing around a point, not trying too hard to make it. But now I'm COMPLETELY lost. If you're saying you're NOT comparing Stanton's and Fielder's careers, then, by definition, you can't reference both players when making the statement that "Stanton is already a more prolific HR hitter at age 20 than Fielder was at age 22." It's real simple, Stanton in reference to Fielder, at an age, hit MORE homeruns than him. You can't do MORE of something if there isn't a number/standard to begin with (that standard was chosen by YOU, in Prince).

So you are comparing them? But you won't listen to any other opinion as to why that is only a small part of the entire discussion. Got it. You tell me what parts of this arguement you are comfortable with, because you seem too fragile for someone else's input.

Good. Apparently you can't understand simple logic, so it's better that you foe me since I'm a very logical person who uses logic to construct my opinions.

For the 100th time, said in a different way; of course Mike Stanton CAN hit 50 HRs in a season, and maybe as soon as this season or the next. Prince Fielder hit 50 HRs in his second season, and Stanton (at the same point in their careers) hits HRs at a faster pace. All that said, I'm NOT saying he will, but to say that he can't is to ignore logic since a precedent has already been set proving that it is possible for a second-year player to hit 50 HRs in a season... and Stanton hits HRs at a faster pace than said player at the same point in their careers.

Oh, I get it now! Fantastic insight, thanks for sharing!

30HR max.. pitchers will become wiser, and eventually it will be public where his weak spots are...suggest you sell now.

30 HR MAX??? If he plays 150+ games, I'll definitely take the over on that.
He must have had a low WAR last season.....

Of course, he only had 100 games.

2:1 odds he's closer to 30 than 50 dingers ;)

Besides, i just like throwing in a wrench along with all the hoopla... :D

maybe he will get hot the second half :?: :D

Watching him a few times in his first 400+ ABs in his MLB career, He has more of a chance of striking out 200 times a season with under 60 walks, that hitting even 40 HRs in a season.

But Im sure there is a slim chance (50 HRs), if the pitchers accidentally hit his bat when he takes his blind predetermined big swings...

Burrell, Reynolds, Howard, Dunn fit the same mold somewhat...

PS 12% say "YES" lol
