He'll sign, he'll pitch, and the cycle will start again next season with Bryce Harper, who actually has much more leverage than Strasburg.

Assuming Harper continues the pace he's currently on, by this time next year, do you see him getting more than Strasburg? Just curious.

Strasburg is going to turn into the college version of Matt Harrington. I see a short stay in baseball for him as well. I think he's going to blowout a shoulder within a year.

When I first saw the article I thought it was just a ploy to see what he could get away with. If the Commish's office will allow it I can totally see Harper going international or Boras scaring the Nats into not drafting Harper. No way a team can afford 30-40 million or more on 2 draft picks in 2 seasons. That's just an asinine amount to spend on 2 amateurs. Even if they have no intentions of taking Strasburg to Japan they are just testing the waters to see what they can get away with for Harper. We all know where his head is ;)

I really don't know. My first reaction would be no, simpy because he'll essentially be a high schooler, albeit a ultra-advanced high schooler. As I said though, Harper has much more leverage. I think he'll be right around what Strasburg gets, maybe a little more, maybe a little less. If I was the Nats, right after they get Strasburg signed, I'd start negotiating with Boras about Harper. I'd probably tell Boras that unless Harper gets injured or sucks, we'll give you about the same as Strasburg.

Well, if Boras and Harper wanted to go the international route, they would have already done it, not enrolled him at a top JUCO down the road. I think he'd be less likely to go the international route, as he's a 16 year-old Morman kid who desperately wants to play pro baseball NOW. Also, Bryce's brother is actually transferring to the same school to play with Bryce. There were rumors the family was considering trying to move to the Dominican earlier in the year, but they shot those down quickly.
