Bowman 2009 to feature all players from WBC

I just completed my interview with Clay and he revealed that the Topps contract with the WBC gives them exclusive rights image wise for all WBC players, and you can expect to see them in 2009 Bowman including Yu Darvish and Junichi Tazawa. Should be a huge international boost to 2009 Bowman!

No credit for anyone here. I bet Topps had this in the works as soon as the last exclusive was up with UD. Or WBC is smart and is rotating the exclusive each time the WBC is played.

More competitors in the market is always good for the consumer...end of story.

This is a great boost to this product hopefully without repeating other guys with prior autos or chromes!

Especially if it's auto'd. I really, really want to find out who the autos will be.

Although, going by their track record, expect to see a minimum of true 1st year players.

I agree JP, they just don't have the subject list to produce a good auto c/l of all first year players...i expect we'll see some second years and some repeats of guys who have a base chrome from years past as well.

Umm, what's going to happen to Brett Lawrie? I don't see this any different then the MILB deal Tristar has. Unless since this is happening after the fact(When Lawrie signed with Razor) maybe Lawrie is exempt from this.

Judging by the MiLB deals...Lawrie would not be able to sign autographs for this...but as long as he is in his WBC jersey...this sounds like Topps can kick out a Bowman Chrome Lawrie card.

Right the autographs rights will never be bypassed(what Tristar did doesn't really count) but I think they might be able to get away with having a Lawrie base card.
