At this point, does anything topps does related to these patches suprise you? No scan, not suprised at all, glad i didn't pick one of these up when they were up around 80+ per.

any word on the pictures? Mine all show shipped but have for a while now. 3 were shipped via USPS First Class Letter Certified but the tracking number says "no record" 1 also says UPS signature service but the same when the tracking is input.

To be fair, with Topps now owning MLB if this card I get is absolute trash I may very well be done with Topps.

i am fairly certain that topps got shorted on the amount of gamers they were supposed to get

No no no....I'm talking in pure design/patch size, and not checklist-wise.

I guess from Gilmo's last post that we are being prepared for a huge letdown. I wasn't expecting a huge patch, but I will be disappointed if I don't receive at least a 2 color patch of something other than an advertisement... in addition, I have 7 coming, and I expect at least 1-2 non-scrub players.

After reading this I feel very sorry for the guy on here that bought 50+ of the redemptions... I am sick and tired of getting redemptions that are late, that cannot be fulfilled, and also tired of being told that "It is out of their control" - they are promising something that they do not honor, and although not a lawyer, I have to question whether the term "Bait & Switch" would apply.

The cynic in me also wonders if a portion of the patches on hand aren't being reserved to use in products other than sterling that are yet to produce revenue?

So now you want topps to use non ad patches? some jerseys where 80% ad patches. As for you expecting 28% of your redemptions being non junk best of luck with that, I am pretty sure the checklist is 90% junk. I am expecting them to release a very limited multi color selection which of course we will see a scan of. Dont hold your breath it is topps after all, the best patches will all be faked by some tool on ebay.

Couldn't they just have bought some? I sure hope Jeter shows up, but I'm sure he won't. I mean the WBC cards could have been an opportunity for Topps to produce their first game used cards of Jeter in years. Even if they were "shorted", not going to the secondary market (MLB had the game used for sale on their web site) to secure enough quality players' jerseys could be seen as lazy and uninterested in putting out quality product - not just '08 Sterling, but '09 Triple Threads, '09 Sterling, etc.

With the game used jerseys sold directly by MLB, I don't see how a lack of these jerseys being obtained by Topps could be seen as "beyond their control". If this does turn out to be the case, it would be more like Topps having a crappy exclusive contract in place, being too cheap to rectify the potential dissatisfication of their customers, and a missed opportunity by Topps to make some important cards of a major worldwide event.

A point that I have not seen anyone touch on is Topps is producing game used WBC cards and putting them into 2009 Bowman Sterling. They have a Yu Darvish game used jersey card on the sell sheet. I think they decided to wait on producing the cards that are for redemption and probably printed them with the 2009 Bowman Sterling product. If the patch cards are anything like what the jersey cards look like, we will have a ton of very unhappy folks. Guess we will just have to wait and see.
