Hey all,

So I've been around for a while but haven't busted any boxes in over four years. I pretty much only buy cards, mostly in resale form or buy and hold form. However, I bought some boxes to resell on BO's black friday sale. Ended up picking up 2007 and 2006 Contenders for football but am still planning to flip those. But today I was bored and decided to bust the 6 UD 2008 Masterpieces I bought for 9.95 at the BO Sale. I figured what the hell, I've heard good things about the parallels from this and the cards look nice.

I was hoping to get a full set (Base plus SP's) but ended up short a little.

So first off I have the Set 1-90 and then am missing the following SP's from 91-120: 91, 94, 97, 98, 100, 102, 106, 107, 109, 115, and 116.
However, I got the following SP doubles: 101, 103, 104, 110, 118, 120 and maybe a couple more laying in the base.

I hit a boatload os Yankee Stadium Legacy cards but I don't think they are too rare.

Now onto the best part, the hits. It seems like it was 1 relic per box and 1 or two parallels:

Relics:
Definitely the most disappointing part of the break. All were one color but I hit Francisco Rodriguez, Ben Sheets, Brian Roberts, Dan Uggla, Khalil Greene and the best one Carlton Fisk.

Numbered/Parallels:
These were real nice and would've been awesome to hit back in 2008 but I still think I hit some nice stuff:
Carlos Beltran Black Non Numbered
Steve Carlton Blue /125
Hanley Ramirez Blue /125
Frank Thomas Brown /100
David Wright Brown /100
Daisuke Matsuzaka Green /75
and the best one....
Reggie Jackson Gray /25!!

I thought I killed the parallels and then in one of the packs out popped the following...

An auto....which are tough pulls.....

of

Fausto Carmona BLEH. Back a few years ago that would've been a great hit but I still think I ended up doing well and it was fun. Anytime I see these on sale I think I will try and grab a few.

Thanks for the read guys!

Any breaks for $10/box is fun. Glad you enjoyed it.

Ryan

Thanks. I think I hit some great stuff for the price too. An Auto is really hard pull. The Frank /100 and the Reggie /25 are great pulls and the I got some other solid color.

QUESTION for all you guys though,

Have you ever sent YSL cards to COMC? It looks like most of them are priced 2 bucks or higher so thinking of sending them all in (or most). Has anyone had any luck selling YSL on COMC?

You will be suprised what those can get on the resale market. People are still doing the set on those colored parallels. Not say ing your going to retire by any means.

But you sure have more in ROI then what you spent.....

Someone on here needs like ten of those Yankee Stadium Legacy cards. look for the thread. Also a member on here and over on blowout was needing some of the colors to finish I thinkk his 4th or 5th set of those. And he had the sp's and base for trade too..

Look for the threads and see if you can't finish the set

And like Ryan said for 10 bucks that is a fun break

The parallels actually do quite well compared to other parallels from other products of the same rarity. Sounds like a fun break. Did you happen to pull any Posada YSLs?

I searched for the threads and couldn't find anything except stuff from over a year ago. I think I'll send off most to COMC and try and complete the set by buying a few more boxes if I can find them cheap.

I thought I hit some pretty dang good paralleled stuff, only thing was the hits weren't great.

I loved 2008 Masterpieces. I completed the base plus sp's set also. I don't think I have any of my doubles left but if I do I will let you know.
