I don't really see how Vizcaino or Teheran are 5-Stars at this point in their careers. I could see Freeman and Heyward being 5-stars, but let's leave the 18 year old pitching prospects off the elite list of prospects.

Now, why wasn't Vizcaino considered a 5-star prospect while he was in the Yanks' system? All of a sudden, his stock skyrockets just from changing teams? Makes no sense to me.

Oh, and Freeman should be # 3 at least.

I totally agree.

I like Teheran, but he's too young to put in that group.

agreed i'll put freddie above them for now.

Both those guys have huge upsides, I think the 2-4 rankings are pretty much interchangeable.

Their upside is huge, but you cannot (in my mind) rank a player(s) that high based on ceiling alone. Teheran had a 1.40 WHIP and a .288 avg against him in Rome, and I saw his full season debut in person; he has a lot of work to do, but that is to be expected since he doesn't turn 19 until another week. Vizcaino was much more impressive last season, but I still do not understand why they are ranked so high.

I am a Braves fan so I should want these guys to do well, but the hype surrounding these two is unbelievable.

I agree that they shouldn't be 5 stars. They do belong in the Braves top 5, in some order. I'm not a huge fan of Freeman, I think hes a bit overrated.

Here's Goldstein's reason:
Yeah, that's my bad, but this is the accurate ranking, so let me explain. The first few Top 11s are done BEFORE the Top 101 is done for the book. So I'm going a bit more by gut. Five star is a Top 50 consideration guy, Four star is a Top 100 consideration guy. When I went to do the Top 101 for the book (now at the printers!), I took all my Top 50 consideration guys and found a problem . . . there were only 34 of them. This happens . . . talent is cyclical and I think we're currently down a bit overall -- there have been years where I had more than 50. Anyway, some four star guys became five, and Vizcaino is one of 'em.

I don't agree with the idea that there has to be x number of 5 star prospects each year. There are some years where the talent is down and I'd like to see that reflected in the ratings.
