I have a feeling I won't be the only one who believes Jon Jay should have been on that list (in the 6-8 spot in my opinion).

And I am an Astros prospect :o

I figure Jay, Rasmus and Mather figure more into the future of the Cards outfield then Ludwick, Ankiel and anyone else, honestly.

I know a Cards fan or two who are VERY high on Jay (Skorris I am looking at you ;)), and I have been fairly high on him sicne his first foray into BC (correct me if I am wrong, but I do believe it was 06?).

Is Bryan anderson rated so low because of his lack of power?

Actually if you look at his numbers...offensively he has been pretty stable....260-.280 hitting catcher, not a lot of power but I think it will come. He is below average defensively which hurts him a lot especially with Yady.......

Not sure on Ankiel being that quick to grab the doorknob out of St. Louis...they have invested a lot of time and waiting with him. 100% agree with you on Ludwick, Duncan, Schumaker being expendable. I look for the Cards OF, possibly even this year, to be Mather/Ankiel/Rasmus, with a possible platoon of one of the 3 mentioned above if not traded.

Jay I dont think is ready yet, but if he keeps playing like he does he will be there soon.

Well, I don't mean this year, obviously.

I believe 2010 is definitely the earliest Jay will see the bigs.

Unless serious injuries hit the Cards outfield.

I think after this season, Ankiel may hit the dusty road (if he shows the same thing from last year) for better pitching/infield help.

It will be an interesting year in the Central this year. I dont think the Cubs got any better or worse than they did last year, Brewers will be hurting with out CC for the entire year as they really didnt replace him with anyone, but they will still contend, and the Astros will be there as well.

I honestly think the Cardinals are probably a little better than they were last year if you assume Rasmus makes the roster, Carpenter is at least 75% back, and Mr. Greene can find his bat.....

Who knows about the Reds....could be good, could be horrible.

Yea, I totally agree. I'm a big fan of Jon Jay. I think he should be in the spot of Reifer.

But, where in the hell is Clay Mortensen? I mean, I know he somewhat struggled in AAA, but this was his first year in professional baseball, and he's already in AAA. He was very inconsistent at times, but he definitely showed flashes.

I'd also bump Bryan Anderson up a bit. I'm still very high on Jaime, even though he's having TJ surgery.

WOW!
Jon Jay not in their Top 10 is crazy!

I might be a little bias... Since I been stacking his cards from the get go...

but still... how can someone that hit well over 300 last season and has to potential to actually be a player in the MLB not crack that top 10?!?! lol

Is Freese no longer considered a prospect? He had a very good year in AAA and there have been rumors floating around about him getting looks at second base next season.

Probably because he's already 25, 26, even though he was the Minor League POY for the Cardinals.

Wasn't PJ Walters in the top 10 last year? He must've taken a fall.

Also, just came to mind, but Ferrera isn't up there as well..[/quote:2g7oipu8]

Hehe, I like your sig.I need to watch my '06 NLCS and World Series DVD collection again.

It is pretty sad Topps had to include Jay again in Bowman Chrome this year.Another guy, Velasquez (Rockies prospect), is another player who had a '06 Bowman Chrome Draft card, and Topps stupidly included him again in '08 Bowman Chrome if I'm not mistaken.
