Funny that the card is now at almost $20k, with 3 days left. Guess they both underestimated it.

Z had a point at first but when the seller basically just no thanks and please find another, z couldn't drop it. It's comical really. It should have ended there.

I only see it as a BIN/BO for $19,938.45

My mistake. Figured a price like that would be the result of bidding. Often a BIN/BO would be a round number. :o

We only became aware of Ziegler's hobby after a tipster forwarded us an email correspondence that they had with Ziegler after he became interested in buying the tipster's autographed Babe Ruth card on eBay.

"OMG I just got into it with an athlete... time for internet stardom! Let me send it to Deadspin" *rolls eyes*

S: You clearly know nothing about this card bc there is only one. It is not just auto, it is made with game used Babe Ruth material.

Manufactured scarcity is not real scarcity. Yes, it's a "1/1," but it's far from "one of a kind". Comparing it to other Ruth cut/GU is actually the best way to estimate a price. Ziegler comes off as a bit of a dick... but the seller does, too. There's no winner in that exchange, and I tip the cap to the bigger ****** by it being him who sent it to deadspin.
As per his posts here, the guy just got into card collecting (again?) and admitted he didn't know if it should be redeemed or what.

Once again, A seller can ask what he wants for a card for whatever reasons he feels justified. If the potential buyer doesn't like the price he can make a counteroffer. If the seller politefully declines then maybee you can come to a meeting of the minds and WIN/WIN. There is no need getting confrontational with the seller.....If I were in the sellers shoes then I would have told Ziegler to move on as well!!!!!!!
