Because Carlos Beltran was definitely out trying to steal third base in the 9th last night. I can't remember the last time a blown call decided a game like this one, but the next time it happens to the Mets, I can't say it won't be deserved.

If I were a Braves fan, I'd be mad for a week.

But its only May.... not game 161.

Umps are human... they will make mistakes... and later the Braves will benefit from a call as well.... so it likely will even out in the end.

you got your reward for winning when Johan pitched, simple, the Mets got their revenge with the bad call

you are even now

Braves should have lost Monday, Mets should have lost Tuesday, flip flopped, whats the problem?

Except the Mets defense lost the game for Johan and you're selling Derek Lowe a little short (I know, Oliver Perez would do that to me also). Braves still could have won in extras, so they at least got a little bit of lube instead of getting straight bum ****** by the umpire.

That's not even close to being the same!!!! Have you ever even picked up a baseball???

The defense failing a pitcher (and ultimately causing a loss) is a far cry from an ump blowing a call that leads to the winning run.

Just call me a sore loser for them blowing another Johan victory...I'm not even a Mets fan haha.

But still the Braves should have lost against Johan, and won. The Mets should have lost last night, and won. So its a wash. Different situations but the result probably should have been the same as what happened.

Bad call 100%. But hey it happens all the time, especially on stolen bases. What was admirable was the Met announcers saying he was out. I hate when announcers stick with the home team regardless of how obvious it is.

If the call was as obvious as everyone is saying then I am really PO'd about it. To me two game swings are critical no matter when they happen, and for a two game swing to occur on a blown call is crazy.

Sore loser......also the bolded comment is just stupid. I think you're letting your player collector ID cloud your reasoning. Baseball is played with 9 guys on a field not Johan playing by himself. We all know that pitchers get the w's and l's, but your comment is ignorant. The braves won that game and should have. They were better that night than the Mets and Johan. It's NOTHING like a blown call.

+1 I will do whatever I can to watch the Braves with the Braves announcers (who are VERY unbiased, BTW), but the Mets guys are at least tolerable. Ron Darling's voice sounds like he's chewing on some marbles or soemthing sometimes, but he's mostly unbiased.
THE WORST announcers are the Reds' guys. No matter what, the call should go the Reds way to them. Oh, and Rob Dibble does color for the Nats now and he is HORRIBLE to the point he's actually taking pot shots at opposing players.

MLB.tv is the perfect solution....lets you pick which broadcast you watch. I wish MLB Extra Innings was like that. Got to thank Jeff again for pointing me to the free MLB.tv subscription.

Agreed. I have no problem with someone saying Johan pitched good enough to win or didn't deserve to lose (as in the stat), but to say the Braves should have lost is beyond reason. Derek Lowe pitched a fine game himself that night and got the benifit of the Met's horrible defense.

The Braves deserved to lose last night for Jeff Bennett's 10th inning, but the game shouldn't have gotten to that point.

I didn't watch the game. How did Pelfrey look?

best outing this year from what i saw. back to back of at least 7 innings. even got himself 3 k's after 2 consecutive starts w/o a k.

i know jerry likes to use putz and krod for 8 and 9 but i really thought pelf should've pitched into the 8th inning. pitch count was low under 100 after 7 innings.

Hey! Heeeeeeeeeeeyyyyyyyyy!!!!

Watch what you say about Shane. You're just jealous that you don't have Victorino on your team. Admit it, you would take him in a heartbeat.
