I'm fine with Frank Wren making a deal with Dayton Moore if the Braves can get some outfield prospects with power. After all, Kansas City is the Braves' AAAA organization, so it wouldn't be shocking if a deal is make with KC.

I'd unload him. Injury prone pitcher, that really after this season I think his stock is as high as it's gonna get. The Braves are pretty loaded in starting pitching, and there minor league depth for position players could use some serious help. you think the Cubs would ever consider trading Castro?? Not saying for Jurrjens, but a package?

Castro is the Cubs only marketable player, so it would be really tough for them to trade him. They do really need pitching though.

I'm all over that as a possibility. I would love to see Castro in a Braves uni. Even with his questionable fielding. Guy is gonna be a stud. Like said before Jurrjens stock my not be any higher than right now and the Cubs are restocking, reloading and cleaning house. Maybe Frank should give Theo a call.

David O'Brien reported on twitter that KC says Myers and Cain to much to give up for Jurrjens or Prado or both. I'd love to see both of them in our outfield in the future, but doubt it happens.

I would take a combo of Clint Robinson and Alcides Escobar for Jurrjens. Braves infield defense was terrible last year.
If you would take that, you are out of your mind.

Jurrjens would bring MUCH more than that if the Braves are smart.

They don't strike me as a team that is overflowing with starting pitching

Really?
Hudson, Hanson, JJ, Beachy, Minor, Delgado, Teheran, Viz, Medlen. I think we can find 5 starters out of that group if we trade one or two

Until a guy performs at the MLB level, you don't really know what you have. Hudson is the only fully healthy veteran starter they will have if they trade Jurrjens. Even if Hanson comes back at full strength, that makes two. I know you guys love your prospects, but it generally isn't a great idea to go with essentially 3 starting pitchers who haven't thrown a full season. Perhaps there is a team that has made the playoffs with such a rotation, but I don't recall one.
Let me put it this way for you: there are a lot of teams wishing they had the starting pitching that the Braves have, regardless of age, experience, etc.

Hudson/Hanson/Jurrjens are all proven, though Hanson and Jurrjens have had injuries.

Beachy/Minor/Delgado/Teheran have all started MLB games. I think at least 2 of that group will be solid or better NEXT year. Throw in Vizcaino, who has an electric arm, and Medlen-and you have a list of SP's most teams would love to have. And Beachy/Minor/Teheran/Delgado/Vizcaino/Medlen are all very cheap.

Considering the team that acquires Jurrjens has to still go to arby with him, Braves aren't getting much.

As a Royals fan, these rumors scare me. I really don't think Jurrjens is worth a top prospect. Maybe for Christian Colon but not anybody ranked higher than him. Jurrjens is going to be making too much money and is likely to be no better than a 3 or 4 starter in the AL (assuming he's healthy).

Jays might jump in on this now. They need a 2nd basemen.

and the Braves are interested in Andre Eithier which I personally don't care for....

Think the Jays would trade Lawrie and Drabek for Prado and Jurrjens? If so I'll help JJ & Prado pack. Go Braves make a splash!!

Yuck:

According to Troy Renck of the Denver Post, the Rockies have contacted the Braves about the availability of Martin Prado.
Renck writes that the Rockies scouted Prado extensively last season and view him as a solution at second base. Of course, he also has experience at third base, another area of need for Colorado. The clubs have yet to exchange names, but Renck suggests Seth Smith and Charlie Blackmon as possible fits for Atlanta. The versatile Prado earned $3.1 million this season and is arbitration-eligible for the second time this winter.

lol.

I could see the Jays making a push for Prado. I'd be all for it. But I wouldn't see them being too interested in Jurrjens. And if they were, there isn't any way they'd give up anything remotely close to Lawrie. The only way Lawrie would head to Atlanta is if Heyward and Teheran were coming back. ie, it ain't ever happening.

Just saw on twitter as also posted here that Seth Smith could be in a deal for Prado. WTH? I'd rather have Prado at 85% than Seth Smith at 110%. Unless Wheeler or Arenado are coming too, Blackmon doesn't really do much for me.
