Ok.

It's still news, as it was just reported this afternoon....

"The Ravens applied the franchise tag to Rice on Friday, which will keep him from becoming an unrestricted free agent and pay him about $7.7 million as part of the one-year deal. His four-year rookie contract was set to expire in March."

I wouldn't say he sucks, I would say he's average.

All of those stats and accomplishments mean nothing if he never wins a ring.

I would take that any day of the week, he will get his ring if not more. So you are kind of saying Marino sucks because he never won a ring?

As a guy who is neither a Ravens or Steelers fan, may I weight in on Flacco?

That list of Flacco's accomplishments were all gifted to him by the Ravens defense. They carried him to those feats. While he's not terrible, he's nothing above average. He's a young Trent Dilfer...and a human Sam The American Bald Eagle.

Marino is one of the all time greats, even without a ring. He at least made it to the Super Bowl, Flacco might not ever get that chance.

AMEN...Flacco and Big Ben both carried by defense...Big Ben would be just as average if not more than Matt Ryan if he had his defense...for some reason fan boys forget that about BOTH steelers and ravens...

 Homerism aside, Ben is worlds ahead of Flacco. That being said, Flacco is better than he gets credit for. Saying he is a young Dilfer is kind of silly IMO.

Cool, that means that the Steelers really do have a better defense than the Ravens.

Awww did I strike a nerve? I honestly think you're a bigger Ravens fan than I am sometimes considering how you are always so worried about the team. ;)

There are more than 10 QBs in this league I would rather have than Flacco. That makes him middle of the road mediocre.
