Diving for a popped up bunt from Ellsbury. Strecthed out his right (non throwing shoulder), over extending his arm, and smashing face first into the ground.

He is crying on the ground. Ouch. (Anyone would have tears if your nose smashes into the ground)

(edit) He's got big respect from Red Sox Nation for that effort.

Re: Brett Cecil Hurt

I was about to post this. Looked like he slammed his shoulder into the ground. Looks like at least his pitching arm/shoulder are alright

Gotta love that kind of hustle from a rookie. I love this kid (and I can't help but gloat by saying that I was one of the guys that first caught on to him ;))

Re: Brett Cecil Hurt

Man he went all out to catch that, I like this kid...

Glad he's not seriously injured though, I'm pretty sure the Jays don't need any more injuries to their starting rotation.

Even though everything I had of him is gone I still like him, he is one of my new favorites.

I was holding my breath during that sequence. Jeez, Brett, we've got enough injured pitchers as is.

On another note, that K for Ortiz was one of the ugliest swings I've seen, ever. He just looks completely and utterly lost.

With the recent HR's, I hope that dive truly didn't do any damage. That was some serious effort.
