The Brewers and Kentrail Davis are at odds.

The Brewers were set to invite Davis to Miller Park to sign his contract and to take batting pratice in front of the home crowd this weekend. Kentrail Davis backed out of the pre-arranged agreement at the last minute and then asked even for more money.

Brewers said they are dead set on their price which is way above slot. Davis is planning on reporting to the Cape next week.

Why he would want to spend another year with Raleigh is beyond me, but it sure would help Tennessee if he returns.

Pretty sure he can't return to Tennessee.....but this news sucks for me.

Here comes another Gary Sheffield.....remember.....we had him first. Watch out.

Curious how the OP never sites his sources for stories such as this. No links, nothing.

I just shot an email to Tom Haudricourt, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinal's Brewer's beat guy. If he knows, I'll tell you. He talks to Doug Melvin once or twice a day.

I didn't see anything on his blog about it though. Maybe later today?

My guy sent a text to Kentrail, and hasn't got back to me yet. Other than the fact that Kentrail hadn't told him anything before about coming to Cape and he's the guy he would have to tell that to since our roster is locked now.
