Re: MLB 6/10

I guess you dont watch Angels games. They play in the MLB.

What does that have to do with anything though? He's 3 for 3 this month allowing 1 hit in his save opportunities. Typically MLB *insert date* threads are about topics relevant to the particular date... Just make a "BRIAN FUENTES SUX" thread.

He might be 3-3 this month, but he sure makes it look tough and it doesnt do anything to make up for last month when he couldnt get anyone out.
I was actually watching last nights game today and didnt know it was a replay... My bad... Im sure he will get back to blowing saves. If it wasnt for some bad umpiring last night he would have been beat again.
There should be a Fuentes Sux thread....

Its the Brian Fuentes Sux Thread. Yankees sux threads are probably a bit more popular though.

I never got why the Angels felt the need to go out and sign a closer. I thought they should have just given the job to Shields or Arredondo.

This year has showed why, while fuentes is not the best closer Arrendondo and Shields in the pen have been horrendous.

Both of those guys have been atrocious this year. I was all for them letting K-Rod walk with a big price tag, but in the end, he didn't get all that much money considering the caliber of closer he is. Particularly considering they didn't spend to keep Tex or make any other major additions, they should have kept K-Rod.

Glad to you took my tongue in cheek comment as a valid suggestion. I wonder what else I can influence people to do.

Yup, the only solid guy this year in the pen for the Angels has been Oliver.

Oh and it should be noted the fact that I collect Brian Fuentes only stems from the fact that he's from my hometown (Merced, CA). I really don't care what he does on the field performance-wise and while on the Angels I'd actually prefer that he "suck".

Brian Wilson is the second coming of Jeff Brantley. Can't pitch unless they are up by 1 with the bases loaded.

Does this thread have to do with the fact that you drafted him for your fantasy league? As an angels season ticket holder, I'll agree, he's no Frankie and is tough to watch at times.

Arredondo was sent down yesterday too. He's been brutal after having a decent yr. last year.

Shields doesn't have a time table when he'll be back from the DL. I'm guessing all the innings the last few years have caught up to him.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Rudy Saenez up soon if they recalled Jepsen to replace Arredondo.

I'm an Angels fan, and not a Fuentes fan. But, who would you rather see close? Shields is likely going to need surgery, which would end his season, Jose Arredondo has not been impressive, and was sent to AAA last night. Bulger is lights out at times, but is very inconsistent. Oliver has struggled lately, and Speir is terrible.

Seanez is hurt, and probably will end up retiring. See my previous post for Shields info.

Yeah...because they are tied for 1st in the AL East. And they sign very good players, because they have money.

What is your point?
