This is sorta a rant. I was playing basketball, and I was running to help pick up someone's man down low to try and block their shot from behind (was successful, but I paid the price). Right after I blocked the shot, I turned my ankle, and it got stepped on. It hurt so badly. I had to crawl off the court. Anyways, today I went to the hospital to get it X-rayed. It turns out, it was broken. So, they gave me a splint and crutches, and I was on my own. I've never had to use crutches before, and they are so annoying. I almost fell because of them. Honestly, I'd rather limp on my ankle than have the crutches. Now, I'm done for the year in track and tennis. That sucks, but oh well, I can't control it. I also have a party tomorrow, and it's going to be less fun with crutches.

Thanks for reading my long rant.

Sorry man. I know how that feels. I broke my ankle a couple of year ago and had to get a plate and like 9 screws put in. Hope you have a speedy recovery!

Dude, chicks love the gimp. Play the role, take advantage of the situation, and let the ladies love you long time. Well........atleast until you get off the crutches. ;)

I feel your pain as I've broken mine once and sprained it once before that. When you said you had to crawl off the court it brought back vivid memories of me crawling off a basketball court in such pain that all my senses were dull to anything but the throbbing in the ankle. Only minutes later did I realize that my buddies were having a good laugh at the site of me crawling around and howling.

Here's to a speedy recovery and use the crutches as they help.

Ok, jokes aside. I can sympathize. I have horrible ankles as I did a very similar thing playing ball back in highschool. I stepped off the side of a concrete court and my foot caught the edge. I rolled it, everything popped and it swelled within a few minutes to the size of a grapefruit. Damn it hurts just thinking about it. Something I don't want to go through if I don't have to.

Junior year of high school: only junior starting on varsity football.

Opening kickoff, playing left end (containment), dive across field to make tackle...broken ankle (left growth plate)...out for the season...crutches for 9 weeks.

Senior year...broke school record for tackles and sacks.

Point in case...keep your head up and get well soon!

;)

Thanks guys for all the responses! I hope it's not too serious, so I can get this damn cast off and the crutches can be done with.
Card-treasury-Is your name Justin Tuck? ;)

So, there's a second part where he plays the next season and breaks the record in tackles and sacks?

I know, right? Maybe that's why I don't play ball with them anymore.

Why, did he suck?

Maybe there is more of a parallel between the two of you than I initially imagined then?

I'm just asking.

Rudy didn't suck, he just only got one play for ND. He could have been great, but they didn't try to play him at all. He worked so hard to prove his dad wrong. His dad called him a lunatic for thinking he'll play at all at ND. He ended up playing one kickoff.

Man, that stinks. I badly sprained my ankle playing basketball two years ago. I was dribbling around a screen, but cut to the basket on an impossible angle, and my foot went sideways. It killed! So we went to the family doctor, and he said that it was badly sprained and I had to be on crutches for 3 days. The thing that was horrible, was it was during baseball season, and I could not play for 3 weeks (although I did).Good luck with your recovery.

Dude sorry to hear that. I had almost the same thing happen to me playing B-Ball
I was back pedaling to block a guy and he drive around me and then slipped on the floor
and when you tried to right his self he slammed right in to my leg. It hurt like hell and after the game
I went to the hospital and found a hair line crack. to this day sometime I feel that spot where it all happen.

Hope it heals and you can get back on your feet soon
