It was the wrong call when he did it. No hindsight was necessary.

Even with Wilson having been great so far, you leave a Top 5 in all MLB pitcher in there. And it was nice of Madsen to give Lidge back his closer job with his performance on this road trip.

I don't think you can say it was a bad move. Lincecum was over 100 pitches and had just issued a four pitch walk. Maybe a bit of an early hook but it's hardly indefensible, especially with a three run lead and a flawless, to date, closer.

Managers baby pitchers way too much these days.
With a stud like Lincecum, leave him in there!
Great pitchers like Seaver, Ryan, Carlton, Spahn, Feller and dozens of other legends had no problem pitching 300+ innings in a season.
Why do managers treat today's pitchers like wussies?

The financial implications to the organization are night and day.

Timmy said that he still felt strong. Bochy f'ed this up and it was a bad decision to pull him. Lincecum was not in trouble and has earned the right to close out games like these. I hope Bochy learned from today.

And if Lincy stayed in and blew the win on his own, would you be ranting that Wilson should have come in for the save? You know, since he was 4/4 with an ERA of nada. . .

I wouldn't. I think there are only three or four pitchers in all of baseball that the rules don't apply to. Lincecum is one of those guys and Bochy needs to realize it. Timmy is young and healthy and was in CONTROL today he should have let Timmy finish the game. Bochy is a moron and continues to make mind baffling stupid decision. I wish they'd DFA velez and fire Bochy.
