Bryce Brown Chooses Tennessee
By Thayer Evans
Update | 2:16 p.m. Bryce Brown will attend Tennessee, he said Monday at a news conference.
Bryce Brown, the top-ranked football recruit in the class of 2009, will announce Monday afternoon where he will attend college.
The 6-foot, 215-pound tailback will choose among Kansas State, Louisiana State, Miami, Oregon and Tennessee in an announcement at 1 p.m., Central time, at the Kansas Sports Hall of Fame in Wichita, Kan., said Brian Butler, Brown’s controversial trainer and recruiting adviser.
Brown has maintained that he remains committed to Miami, where his older brother, Arthur Brown Jr., is a linebacker, but the Hurricanes have indicated that they are no longer recruiting him and will not provide him with a scholarship.

Wichita (Kan.) East running back Bryce Brown, Rivals.com's No. 1 football player in the class of 2009, will play at Tennessee for new coach Lane Kiffin.
Brown, whose relationship with Brian Butler has raised eyebrows, made the announcement Monday.
Like Terrelle Pryor in 2008, Brown's recruitment turned into a saga. A one-time Miami (Fla.) commitment, Brown picked the Volunteers over Kansas State, The Wichita Eagle reported. At one point during the past six weeks, Miami said it withdrew its scholarship offer to Brown.
Brown wore a Potential Players shirt at his announcement. Potential Players is Butler's player development company.

Two words for Bryce Brown: Jonathan Stewart (Pac-10 football)
I guess Bryce Brown doesn't watch a lot of NFL football.
In case you missed it, he emerged from his cleansing fast Monday and announced he will play his college football at Tennessee.
Brown said the Ducks' spread offense wouldn't prepare him adequately for the NFL.
There is a lot wrong in the reasoning there, starting with the fact that former UO running back Jonathan Stewart is fashioning a nice career as an NFL running back.
