Full no trade. Obviously, he can opt out of that but not the contract.

But I'd be shocked if he ends contract still playing in Philly.

MLBN adding that full-time DH in the NL might be a factor in the Phils thinking.

He has murdered ball at their park, which is kind to Lefty handed hitters...

You think the folks in Bryce Harper's hometown in Las Vegas believe he'll be a difference maker? The #Phillies' World Series odds have gone from 12/1 to 8/1, the pennant from 7/1 to 4/1, the NL East 2/1 to 5/4 and win total from 85.5 to 89.5 per @betonline_ag

2018 stats

Bryce Harper
.249 avg, 34 homers, 100 rbi

Rhys Hoskins
.246 avg, 34 homers, 96 rbi

Would be funny if Hoskins has a better season than Harper in 2019 at a tiny fraction of the cost.

I figured he was waiting for a 10 year/$330 million deal so he could one up Stanton in terms of total dollar and have the highest AAV for a position player

13 years....I don't care how old a player is, 13 years is a bad investment and awful precedent.

Any contract that lasts a decade or longer will be a terrible investment for the team stupid enough to offer it.

Although, I imagine they'll easily be able to recoup that money on all the fanfare, advertisements, merchandise sales, etc. he'll bring in the first few years (assuming he doesn't flop his first season with the Phillies).

The Phillies are first team EVER to add 3 everyday players who were All-Stars the previous year in one off-season.
