Not surprised really, but I thought the Nationals would try to develop him as a catcher first.

He will not sign until mid August so it will not affect the other playerd drafted after him.

Nope. If they didn't give that kind of cash to Strasburg, they will not give it to Harper. Granted Harper is a position player which entails that he will fetch more bread, but 10 mil a year is stupid for him.

Plus Derek Norris will be the Nats catcher in the not too distant future and he is actually a pretty good offensive and defensive catcher....this way Harper will have less wear and tear on his body as a corner outfielder

Nope. If they didn't give that kind of cash to Strasburg, they will not give it to Harper. Granted Harper is a position player which entails that he will fetch more bread, but 10 mil a year is stupid for him.

Lol... He won't get 10 million a year. He'll get 7-10 million to sign and then whatever the minor league salary is.
