Here is the closest comparison of the two players' first 135 or so plate appearances as 19 year-olds in the Majors. Who do you believe will have the "better" overall career in MLB?

I voted for Trout as I feel he is a more complete player and will always be so, but Harper will get the chicks b/c they dig the long ball and he has the swagger that the media will love so that being said he will be the bigger "STAR" which will probably reflect in higher card sales etc through the entirety of both of their careers.

Harper has been much better in his first 137 plate appearances than Trout was in his first 135. Assuming a natural progression through experience like Trout's, Harper could be better than Trout is now, next season.

I think both will be in the hall and will be the Mickey and Mays of our era.

both are amazing, I'd rather have both over Stanton to be honest (ive always thought stanton was a little overrated, although he is a great talent).

I'd have to say I'd rather have Harper for the next ten years, but Trout is having an amazing year. Can't really go wrong with either.

Doesn't matter how good they are individually. It's all going to depend on how their teams perform around them.

I think Harper will have a better shot long term versus Trout. See the Nationals as a stronger franchise 5-10 years down the road.

Both are going to be great individual players, long term it's going to depend on team success.
