That might be true with the press, im not saying Harper isnt good, hes just way overhyped.
Not his fault. Not sure why you have to go insult the kid because he didn't live up to your expectations.

I watched this clown at the 2009 aflac game and practices and he wasnt even the best player there. Jameson Taillon is the guy to keep an eye on

So the kid had an off game/day doesnt mean hes a clown or over hyped. I saw him at the AFLAC game also and he wasnt that bad. Every player has bad games/days. No one no matter how good of a player they are is great every game/day...

Especially in baseball were your doing good if you can get a hit once out of every 3 or 4 atbats....

Harper over a doubleheader yesterday: 3-6, 2BB, 5RBI, double, triple, HR. Played catcher one game and third in the other.

Also the Aflac game was at the end of a long year for him- he'd lost significant weight/strength and was worn out. But he still displayed all the tools and was 2nd in the HR derby right? Not to mention that he was nearly 2 years younger than some of the competition there.

2 yrs younger cannot be a reason not to stand out! he is going to be 3-4 years younger than many in college. so is it acceptable for him to not shine while there? and as far as being worn out!!! wouldnt that be a great reason to play out his high school career? i am aware the minors are known for being short scheduled, easy on youngsters and a great place to rest... however based on the bold parts those excuses wont be allowed in the show.

I don't see how his prices can ever reach the highs they already accomplished. The kid could hit 40 HRs in his ML rookie season and all those USA cards will not see those prices again.

Your absolutely right! I will defend Harper's talent but anyone who thinks he's a good current investment is absolutely crazy. Same with Strasburg.

Well, if he is using a wooden bat for the whole season it would be easy to say that he is playing the equivalent of rookie ball at the age of 17 over a course of a college freshman season. Good measuring stick
