Jim Willoughby was a September 1979 callup but never got into a game. This custom was made using the Portland Beavers team photo (Pirates AAA team) and was signed via a private signing by Signatures4U.

That concludes player autographs to date. Before I move on to non-players, here's a list of players still needed.

George Brunet
Roberto Clemente
Tom Dettore
Terry Forster
George Kopacz
Rimp Lanier
Bob Moose
Daryl Patterson

Besides Clemente, which is an obvious want for most, I would love to have a 75T Moose auto!

Danny Murtaugh was the first of three men to manage the Pirates during the 1970s. He passed away in 1976, but there are a lot of autos out there. I picked up the Panini cut a few years back and and surprised later to find the same photo, signed, at the LCS last year.

Here's the back of the photo.

The park looks like Three Rivers Stadium. Appling's last year as a Chisox coach was 1971, which was the first season that the Sox wore the red caps. But the teams did not play that year. Any ideas?

Bill Virdon was the Pirates' second manager during the 1970s and was a great TTM signer until his passing in 2021. He signed the 1973 Topps for me in June 2020. The 1963 card was a pickup from a member of The Bench.

Pirates coaches, from left to right: Don Osborn (also signed by Murtaugh), on his only Pirates card; Don Leppert; and Bob Skinner. Leppert signed his card for me TTM, Osborn / Murtaugh from Mill Creek Sports, and Skinner via a trade with an SCN member.

Bill Virdon's coaching staff included Mel Wright (on his only Pirates card, also signed by Virdon) and Joe Morgan (who would later manage the Red Sox). Morgan signed the team card via TTM; he doesn't appear on a Pirate card otherwise. Wright was found on eBay.

Chuck Tanner's coaches included Joe Lonnett, Al Monchak, Harvey Haddix, and Larry Sherry. I really shouldn't count this Sherry, as the card front refers to his 1959 WS MVP (as a Dodger). Plus, it's ugly. All were purchases.

These former Pirates players had important roles with the team during the 1970s. Harding Peterson was the farm director 1968-1976 and GM 1976-1985. Tony Bartirome was the team trainer 1966-1985 and Nellie King was a member of the radio broadcast team from 1966-1975.

Murray Cook worked in the Pirates' scouting department during the 1970s. This card was purchased signed from the CBHOF online store.

Milo Hamilton was the Bucs' play by play announcer in 1979. I found this card on eBay.

Greg Brown is currently a member of the Pirates broadcast team. He was an intern in 1979 and spent some time inside the Parrot costume that year. Phil Coyne was a stadium usher at Pirates games starting in 1936 - this 2018 card celebrated his 82nd year in the stands. Both were signed TTM.

And here's a card signed by the current Parrot, whoever that is. Steve Greenberg worked in the Pirates marketing department starting in 1976 and is pictured on this card as the GM of the Dubuque Packers. Both were signed TTM.

These guys went to spring training with the Pirates in 1978; Sosa was traded and the other two didn't make the team. Tepedino signed TTM and the other two were private signings.

Not done yet! These are from the 1976 AA Shreveport Captains - none of these guys made the majors, although Randy Sealy (bottom right) played in the Senior Professional Baseball League, one of the few non-MLB players to do so.
