GARFOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOSE
It's fantastic. He writes really well. For a writer. Not just for an athlete. Actually, as a writer-athlete, it's off the charts.
It's poignant, humourous, and while sophmoric at times, never really crosses that line.
Hayhurst is most definitely a nut. He's on the radio a fair bit here in Toronto and is always rambling on about the Garfoose. I can only imagine what unfamiliar listeners are thinking. "Oh, Garfoose is passed out in the basement. He had a big night eating cars and burning down houses."
Fingers crossed that Dirk makes it back to the Jays bullpen this year.

he cracks me up talking about his roommate in Spring Training that takes monster dumps, and of course the nutty grandmother. She is paranoid and thinks the squirrels and Dirk are plotting against her.. TOOO FUNNY

I bought the book two weeks ago. I read it in one night, it's awesome.
