The end of the article says thieves have now struck four sportscard dealers in the Twin Cities area.

If the crooks have any sense, they'll crack the cards from the graded holders or they'll be really easy to track on eBay if they sell them.

And the grading companies need to be aware of any large bulk submissions of expenisve vintage cards coming from that area so they can possibly catch the thieves.
