Tracked down one of the top three cards I want for the Wells PC. Eventually offered the guy double ebay for it ($300). He apparently wants to hold on...which is cool...its his, after all.

Realistically though, Wells would have to blow up AP or CJ style for a mid-range card to hit that kind of money. I should suck it up and buy HOF autos instead...

Anyone else have stories trying to score PC stuff from people who don't want to sell?

I offered to pay a guy a retarded amount of cash for a Portis card at one point. He has a small PC of him, and the card stuck out as easily the best he had. I believe I offered about $300, to which he responded that he wanted to keep it but he somehow got the thing for about $25. I respected his decision, but I really wish that I could get that card.

I've offered decent amounts for quite a few Brandon Marshall and Kevin Smith cards, to no avail.

www.signingshotline.com

It costs $15 per year and they list just about every autograph signing in the country. You can search by player, team, college, state, etc. If you find one free signing it pays for itself right there. I check every other day to see if new listings pop up.

Sorry dude. But think of it like this, if you could get EVERY card you wanted on the first attempt, what fun would that be?

Thrill of the chase. Can't win them all. Completists do not exist, and those who try to be give up sooner or later.

Good point. I'm patient anyway.
