Whatever happened to all those members who were going to "confront" Burge?

Did everyone just **** out?

Yes, everyone did "**** out".....remember, this is the internet....the land of tough guys that make a fortune in the stock market and shag supermodels.

The threads about the national every year make me laugh....over and over again, everyone states they are going to attend. Guess what, less than 20% of the people actually make it to the show....my guess, their mom wouldn't let them borrow the car that day.

Nobody is going to fight Burge.....and my guess is 99% of our members don't know the first thing about restoring a card - recolor, iron out surface wrinkles or similar practices. Everyone claims that Burge trims cards...and every card he sells is trimmed. That doesn't even make sense from an economic standpoint.

In addition, our membership struggles with simple daily tasks like printing a postage label, finding the mailing address for BGS grading or trying to tie their shoes....what makes you think they could spot a trimmed card from a scan alone?

My guess....at least 70% of the people wouldn't realize this card was trimmed unless it was listed by Burge.

on a related note, my shoe is untied....it's loop, pull, then swoop, right?

(ok, bad joke...but at least i didnt create another thread for it)

The real irony is -- you choose to stay and post here, yet you make it out like the greater portion of the membership are morons. Interesting.

And he claims that most of us here are pimply faced 16 year olds who still s%ck on mommys boobs.... funny

Most members fit that description......16 year old kids hanging on their mom's saggy....you get my point. It drives me crazy when you see someone chime in on a topic and insist they are a subject matter expert only to see them struggle with the same or similar issue in a future thread. This happens with grading or paypal threads all the time...and it is clear from the content of the individual's reply they are clueless.

That is why I glance at the boards and don't post nearly as much....everyday is like ground hog day....the same topics get rehashed again and again. I want to be clear, not everyone is part of the mindless mob....there are informative threads and well thought out ideas from time-to-time but those threads are rare.

Why would anyone fight him over some baseball cards?

I think most people just talked about not giving him business anyway. Did anyone actually say they were going to fight him?

Fight, not so much....many claimed they would confront him for his questionable practices.

Not sure if anyone remembers, but a few years ago on the BMBs, it was pointed out that a 2001 SPA Mark Prior Autograph BGS 9 bumped all the way to a BGS 10. (The serial number was in fact the same.). Burge bought this card as the former and bumped it to the latter.

The person who pointed it out told us that Burge claimed all he had to do was press down on one of the corners, then re-submitted it.

I believe this was the beginning of the scrutiny. It might have been Sean C., but I'm not for certain.

[quote="Jeff N.":2w0k30eu]It's nice to see the pile on mentality hasn't been shed when making the trek over from the BMB.

A good deal of the people posting in this thread have seen him in person to make judgments. I personally saw him trying to get the blank Blake Griffin signed cards so he can forge them from Panini.

The man may be on the level of a child molester - I don't doubt that he's done shady things. But not each and every one of his auctions needs to be called out when that auction, in and of itself, is straight.[/quote:2w0k30eu]

Who says its straight ? You have as much right to say its straight as I have to say its not. Have you ever dealt with him before ?

Anyone hiding the identify of bidders is up to no good.

I want an auto on a trimmed baseball card of Burge with a fake Rocawear patch in it. Better yet, I'll just forge the auto myslef and put it in a Topps holder.

OHHH, will someone PLEASE create a real card of Burge using a pic off MySpace or something? Put like a fake patch and fake auto on it. I would put it in my sig. I'd do it myself, but have NO idea how.
