Manager Bruce Bochy said Wednesday that Buster Posey will begin seeing regular playing time once the Giants are eliminated from the Wild Card race.

The Giants are currently four games behind the Rockies in the Wild Card standings, and it may take another week before they are mathematically eliminated. Posey has served mainly as a bullpen catcher since his September 2 call-up. He had 18 homers and 80 RBI in the Giants' farm system this season.

Pessimistic view of SF's chances at the wild card from Bochy?!? The Braves are only 4 out and I still think they'll make it. In fact, I am loving that Colorado plays St. Louis, Milwaukee, and at Dodgers while the Braves are at Nationals, Marlins, Nationals. :)

True, but that is the nature of baseball, he's lucky that he's not sitting at home waiting to suit up for the Fall league considering that he a 1st year player. Prospect or not, all players need time to learn and go before they can truely contribute to a team in a divison race.

I can see Bochy's view, I'm a Giants fan I think they have little chance, with 10 games left the if the Rockies play .500 ball (5 wins), then Giants need to play .900 ball (9 wins) to tie. So it'll be tough, plus the Braves have a better line-up and Lincecum and Cain have been shelled in their last two starts, not looking good for SF.
