Button, button, who's got the button?

Hi everybody. I just wanted to share my most recent pickup. I never thought I'd actually be able to acquire a copy of each of these, but when the Ballpark appeared on ebay last week, I was able to jump on it. I was happy with the price too as it was the cheapest of the 3, even though the print run is lower.

Well, here they are. All 3 Posada button cards ever made!

I used to have a 2003 leaf limited Lou Gehrig button. I sold it to another member here. Hopefully one day it will make its way home. One of the only cards I regret selling.

In my opinion, 2003 Leaf Limited was one of the best sets ever made. I love the looks of the cards from that year. I like how your Posada has the pinstripe too, that is really cool. Here's mine from that year:

I agree. One of my top 5 favorite sets of all time. Here's mine from that year:

And then I have this little set that is sort of my pride n' joy...

It's just a great set, I have tons of non button stuff from the set that I love. Like this guy:

The next year wasn't as good, but it wasn't that bad either....

Those are #/5, I never found the last one. Plus there is an autograph/button 1/1 that I've never seen...

I have a lot of button cards, but none of Jorge Posada. I figured they would go for more than $50, but I didn't know they went for $100+. If I pick one up someday I hope it's the 2003 Leaf Limited version, as that set has the best design and player selection of any button set.

Yeah. I was hoping for ~ $80 on this one but the market is actually rather high. It's been over a year since a Posada button was on ebay. That was the 03 version that went for almost $150:

At the same time that that one sold, Burbank had one listed for $110 so I immediately scooped that up after I was outbid on this auction.

By the way, amazing cards in your sig!

would you mind sharing? i know how to filter by memorabilia...but beyond that, not sure

This may not be 100% all encompassing, but if you type in the player you're looking for and "button" you'll probably find them all. Button sets are fairly unique and I believe all of them are labeled as such.

Great stuff! If there are any other serious Sabathia cllectos out there, which I'm sure there has to be, they must be FURIOUS with you, lol.

LOL! This is great! I have thought about doing something like this for Albert Belle considering EVERYONE hits eBay when he comes out in a new set but I've just left the funds for the other cards. This is really cool though... I'll do it for Belle soon enough lol
