obviously there's no real way of knowing for sure, but if you wanted to buy a ticket of a somewhat memorable game (first HR, no-hitter, 4HR game, etc.) would you rather have a ticket that the seller says he went to the game with or a ticket that the seller advertises as unused?

I mean they're both the exact same thing but for some reasons the used ticket sounds more appealing. what are your thoughts?

well there really is no way to tell if its used or unused now. Most stadiums just scan the ticket.

If you are looking for older tickets, like Ripken 2131, they embossed each ticket when you entered the stadium. So an older game i would want used instead of unused.

Is this like a game-used versus game-issued thing?

Honestly I would probably want the ticket in the best condition possible because in the end, condition is king. Would you rather have a ticket folded in half that was actually used versus a mint ticket that was never brought to the game?
And for older ones, unripped tickets always sell for more. If there really was a premium put on tickets actually "used" at the game, people could just lie and make a ticket look as if it was.

Obviously the exception is noted above where there is some sort of embossing or something similar.

On the flip side, I would want a ticket with the best seat possible. I would put a premium on field level seats over upper grandstands.
