Buying stock in the Packers

Sort of an interesting read. Looks like its already sold out. Would this be a free ticket into games lol? Can they not allow someone thats a partial owner of the team into a game?? Any Packers fans or other fans for that matter, buy any?

Go to http://www.packersowner.com to read the prospectus. Basically, it's for bragging rights or pride as you can't profit from the sale, get a dividend or get benefits other than vote your share. You are giving the Packers essentially free money so they can do some Lambeau Field upgrades without having to go out of their pockets or threaten the city of Green Bay to move unless they added some money to the upgrade pot. You can transfer your share to an immediate family member or the Packers have the right to buy back the share for 2.5 cents if you want to sell for money. The offering is also not registered with the SEC so you have none of the certain rights you would have with investments such as SEC-registered stocks and bonds that you might own in your financial portfolio for hopeful future profit.

I paid for a share of Packers stock because I think it would be cool to have a silent minority one share in the team and I don't know yet if the offering is fully subscribed -- I may be seeing a refund in the next month if it's already sold out. The Packers have authorized 250,000 shares to be sold (no more than 200 shares to one individual) and can increase that to 8xx,000 (880,000?) shares if the Packers want to.

I would be sweet to say you own stock in the team. But the thing is all you get is a piece of paper that says you own some stock. You can go to a summer stock owner meeting also. But you dont get anything free because of it no tickets no bump in the season ticket list which has 95000 ppl waiting. You can also get into some trouble if you bet on packers games in the tune of 5000 dollars for being a partial team owner an betting on your team.
