For a card 20+ years old I know PSA seems to get the nod for most cards of this age but is BVG somewhat comparable? I ask b/c there is a card that sold for roughly $15 more than a BIN of a BVG 8 and I was considering hitting the BIN if the BVG was reliable. Any thoughts?

I would say they BVG is just as good. PSA is just more desirable because of the set registry but I would have no prob buying bvg. Remember buy the card not the grade.

Last BVG card I owned did. Maybe they don't anymore.

My point is, I don't choose BVG for vintage because they openly acknowledge sheet cuts and trims if the card falls into parameters. Not that PSA and SGC don't do the same by accident, but it is there policy not to.

Rough cuts are a good thing.
