That wasn't cheap.

Thanks. I knew it was going to be a battle going up against the Ripken collectors.[/quote:1mev8k55]

I could be wrong, but I think you set collectors drove up the price on that one.
;) ;)

The saddest thing is that I don't even know what constitutes a full set of 2010 Exquisite.

Any of you Ripken collectors ever come across a Cal from this prototype set from 1992? Here is the Ozzie. I'm trying to find out more info on the set and supposedly there was an article about it in a Beckett Monthly or Baseball Cards magazine back in 92/93. This is a long shot I know but I was told that a Ripken surfaced several years ago.

Ah, not me, my bid was right around $70 for the Essential Credentials and it didn't register.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... K:MEWAX:IT

I couldn't justify chasing that one when the /100 UD Victory Parallel only ran me a bit over $30. But if it is one of the last 90 inserts I needed, I certainly would have gone higher!

Nice grab on that Ripken Century Mark... I wondered how much they went for. I've been watching some of the Huggins and Scott auctions this month (not to bid, just out of price curiosity) and they almost have the full set for sale:

117 of 122, missing Burks, Karros, J. Lopez, Ordonez and Strawberry for completion

http://www.hugginsandscott.com/cgi-bin/ ... &lotno=528

Bidding at $1,300 with a couple of days left, but if Ripken is $250, then I'd say the auction is still pretty undervalued.

Very undervalued.. There are several of those that could go for good $$ (Jeter, Clemens, Randy Johnson, Chipper)..

Hey all,

I have the opportunity to pick up this card, anyone know what a good market price would be? If I got it, would anyone on here like to make an offer? Also any confirmation of its authenticity (I always worry about the Buy Backs). Let me know, thanks!

Looking at Beckett, there are 2 different buybacks numbered /12..

1996 SP and 1997 SP..

That's definitely a 1997 SP I'm 100% sure of that... the autograph looks real as does the authentication card. Any idea what it might sell for?

depends on the bidders.. I know if I collected Cal like Russ does.. I would pay more than most as I used to do for Edgar..

I would guess that it would go for $180 or higher..
