Hey all,

I have the opportunity to pick up this card, anyone know what a good market price would be? If I got it, would anyone on here like to make an offer? Also any confirmation of its authenticity (I always worry about the Buy Backs). Let me know, thanks!

Ripken.jpg

Looking at Beckett, there are 2 different buybacks numbered /12..

1996 SP and 1997 SP..

That's definitely a 1997 SP I'm 100% sure of that... the autograph looks real as does the authentication card. Any idea what it might sell for?

depends on the bidders.. I know if I collected Cal like Russ does.. I would pay more than most as I used to do for Edgar..

I would guess that it would go for $180 or higher..

Well, I landed this as well as a few other REALLY nice cards (no other Ripken's, but some really nice stuff). Picking them all up on Saturday, if you're interested in mine feel free to PM me an offer as the plan is to throw it on ebay and see what offers come in. Anyone on FCB gets a chance to meet or beat any strong ebay offers, less fees (in other words if I get an offer of $10 on ebay, I'd offer it for $8 on FCB).

Completed an interview with Cal today. Also received an advance copy of "Bottom of the 33rd" today. My website was acknowledged in the book! In addition to telling the story of the game it interviews many of the players in the game. Can't wait to read it!

Thanks, guys. Honored is not even a good enough adjective. I never imagined what the site would lead to. Having correspondence with Cal for the third time is really special.

I am only 30 pages in the book (255 pages) but love what I have read. Dan has a very unique ability to get you to think. I have always been intrigued with the longest game. Dan is bringing it to life.

When I learned of the book I sent him a message extending my well wishes. It was then that I learned that he was familiar with the site and had included a reference in his book. Ultimate honor.

The thing I am loving is that it tells the stories behind the players. As much as I live Cal I have loved sharing the stories if Cat Whitfield and Jeff Schneider as well. The Bobby Bonner interview an amazing experience. I love that Dan took the time to tell their stories.

Thanks again!
