i'm thinking the discrepancy is due to our match-up in which the games ahead/behind issue changed our score from 10-9 his favor to 14-10 my favor....

*snaps fingers* Right, right. Thanks for the reminder. Everyone is eligible to go back and invoke the "1st place lead" category for week 1, so long as they do so for all 5 games.

Here's a mid-week reminder to have your games scored by Monday, Jan 26th! This includes Week 1 as well.

Any un-scored games will be a default win for your opponent (assuming they have scored their own team).

There's been a noticeable drop in participation. I was considering announcing the prizes to revive interest, but decided to keep it a secret to reward those who stick with this.

I guess I don't understand. If my scores are already tallied by someone else (which I appreciate), how can I, or what would the point be, in doing them again? Just curious. Not being difficult, the contest is a nice gesture.

Cuz your opponent (accidentally or maliciously... ;) ) could have messed up the score and shorted you some points, so if you didn't score your own, you'd never know...

And sorry I haven't done my week 2 yet... Been busy with baby stuff and work, will probably get it done on Monday

cjedmonton I will likely get this weeks scores done tomorrow night or on Sunday evening. I'm out of town with family for the weekend and will be hitting up TwinsFest tomorrow and Saturday so I won't be able to get to the computer

If your opponent already scored your team, then you don't have to score it again. However, any that remain un-scored would be an automatic loss for you.

I monitor the thread but only have a chance to score my matches when the weekend rolls around due to work. I'll definitely stay on top of my matchups though and have my score before the deadline. Thanks again :)

Chris, you are BEYOND generous with your contests, especially the prizes which some of know about. I like that the prize is a secret...adds to the mystery :)

no clue why people are not participating. i think its fun and have my week 3 score already completed.

Agreed. It takes a while the first time round, but once you get the hang of it it is decently quick to do. I spent less than 15 minutes doing week 2 and that was double checking my work as well as scoring all 5 of my opponents even though I did not post those results (to favor myself lol). I have them archived just in case though.

I guess I don't understand. If my scores are already tallied by someone else (which I appreciate), how can I, or what would the point be, in doing them again? Just curious. Not being difficult, the contest is a nice gesture.

Gotta work for the prize man! As MrMet said, your score posted by somebody else could be wrong either by mistake or intent :)

metallicalex777:

I really appreciate your advocating this game. I try to make the prizes worthwhile, as you know!

Glad to hear this is only taking you a few minutes to complete now.

Outlining the premise of the game and plodding through the first week was a bit tedious, but by now, everyone should have a good handle of things.

To everyone, remember that at least 8 prizes are up for grabs (up to 11 if two wild card teams make it to the Cyclone Series)!

Gold: Cyclone Series Champion

Silver: Cyclone Series Runner-Up

Bronze: All division winners who did not advance to the Cyclone Series

Consolation: All teams having a better regular season record than the commissioner (me) will go into a draw. 2 random teams will be selected by the Cyclone Series Champion.

Last Place: The team having the worst regular season record with no DQs. All 30 games must be scored to be eligible for this prize.

If there's a tie, the team who lost the head-to-head match will be the "winner".

cjedmonton, will there be a prize for the player with the lowest record? After last week's 0-5 start I don't want to let that coveted spot go! ;)

You know what.....let's do it!

However, a team must not have any DQs to qualify for the worst record. All 30 games must be scored.

If there's a tie, the team who lost the head-to-head match will be...ahem...the "winner".

Great idea, Juan. Thanks!

2-8, I figure I will rally late season when my first number is at 1. Lol. Horrible luck, but still enjoying it.
