Going to be in St Louis that weekend for a game. Now I have been to STL half a dozen times, so I know most of the touristy stuff to do there. What I am looking for is the best BBQ joint in the STL area. The one we were going to go to last year was closed Sunday night, cant remember the name of it though. Also, anything else you can suggest in the way of must go to diners, drive-ins or dives (yes, I am quoting Guy on this one) or other sites that only locals know of. :D We will be there Saturday and Sunday night, so looking for some fun **** to do Saturday night.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Carl's Drive In on Manchester is great. It's about 10 minutes west of the city. For breakfast, there is Uncle Bill's on Kingshighway.

I'll actually be staying in St. Louis tonight before making the drive to nowhere (Poplar Bluff) to visit one of our doctors on our study. Staying near the airport so I may venture out to see what neat local place I can find. I was gonna stay instead of fly on Thursday night but the Cards will be in Florida down south where my other sites are. Talk about bad timing!

My favorite place is Caleco's.

It's maybe 6-7 seven blocks up and to the right from Busch. In the same vicinity as Hooters, Hardees, and TGI's.

It's like a neighborhood grill with an italian feel, but it's definitely not all italian food. They have the best pork chops I've had in my life.

You will be driving right by me if you are headed from St. Louis to Poplar Bluff. Exit 71! The drive is boring as crap though.

Wish I could remember the name of the place the guy on Man Vs. Food (Travel Channel) went to in St. Louis. Wasn't Ted Drews, but a BBQ-type place. And some place where he tried to drink ten big milk shakes in 45 minutes or something like that. (he didn't make it.) But the food loked great! I'll do a little research.

That show is becoming a big-time guilty pleasure.

**EDIT**
Here's a link to the show's page where he lists where he went (and what he ate) in St. Louis.

The oak roasted pork **** looked out of this world.
