the autos could not be cut sheets. the guy look s legit and should be treated so. Just because someone has alot of rare cards doesnt mean he is crooked. Sure its possible but he should be given the benefit of the doubt.

I gave him the benefit of the doubt, thats why I bought it!

Yes, but then you questioned it

I am sure it is fine, looks like he has some nice stuff.

His selling so many from the same set all at once isn't a good strategy to maximize $, which helps me to think he's legit.

Im guessing back door.

Notice how they say /5 or /25 but he never mentions the first number.... no 3/5 or 12/25?

Im guessing they are either not numbered... or topps replacements and are /5 and /25 and topps would add the other number when a card is returned.

actually, if you list a bunch of similar stuff at once it tends to go for more

you suck in combined item shippers that collect that niche

provided the niche is large enough you can have some success by piling it on

I do remember in 2007 a lot of chrome and sterlings got back doored. They are just refractored and not numbered. I had several yovani gallardo rookies that where not numbered, Beckett/psa will grade them but will put on the INFO that it is a none numbered one. I believe i have a Will venable black laying around that isnt numbered as well. which of coarse should be stamped 25 made.

Since he doesn't say the cards are a specific serial #, there is a chance they are unnumbered and from uncut sheets. I would ask him if they are serial #'d.

Yes I'd agree if the items being sold are inexpensive (the type of cards people that look to take advantage of combined shipping buy) and/or the people in the niche looking to buy have unlimited funds (which generally never happens).

But moving a lot of rare, expensive items at once overwhelms part of the market, in this case set collectors who collect the same sets this guy apparently did (assuming they exist). Remaining set collectors are less able to fight off other set collectors, player collectors and/or investors if all the items are listed at once because of funding dynamics. Same happens when player collectors with limited funds try to fight off set collectors or other player collectors when a player collector liquidates all at once.

Few things:

1. I have gotten the message about the authenticity on pack pulled signed cards many times. Bid on enough cards and I imagine you'll see it from time to time.

2. It is very possible that he did not put the specific number because it is really time consuming. I always find it a pain to dig up cards that I've scanned a while back and check for the numbers while I am listing, and I only list a few cards at a time maximum.

I honestly think people are speculating with little to go on. If you want to ask him for serial numbers, go for it. But I think some of the assumptions people are making are ridiculous and it could very possibly cost an honest seller money.

I thought the same thing about the time comsumption. I mean it would be a pain to list individual serial numbers!

But I did not intend for the seller to lose money, but I doubt FCB has THAT much of an affect the he will lose money :D

I happen to know this seller and OP is imagining problems where none exist.

the sheer stupidity of some of the other replies in this thread are just astounding.

its really not that hard to have "so many".

I have around 500 topps chrome/topps finest red refractors #'d to 25.
8 David Wright , 7 Pujols, 6 Jose Reyes, 5 each of jeter,arod, ichiro.

i guess theyre all back door fakes because i dont even have time to put them all in my photobucket.
never mind list the ser#'s

The reason the certificate thing popped up was because he listed them under the "Autographs" category. Anything listed there gives the disclaimer when you bid whether it is signed or not.
