Can someone give me a value on this Frank Thomas card?

Trying to buy this off of someone and it is said that it has a book value of $20. I don't think it can be any higher than $18, maybe $15. If someone has a Beckett sub and can tell me for sure I would really appreciate it.

If it did book for $18, would $2 be a deal breaker?

Not really, but I don't want to pay $10 for it if it's worth $18.

This seems very strange to me :?
Isn't something only worth what you or someone else will pay for it? If it was worth $18, wouldn't it cost $18?
Maybe I just don't understand. I would pay $10 for every $18 card ever made. 80% is stupid profit!

Selling value of that card is maybe $5. Book value means very little, especially on an older GU card like that. You can buy the base Retrospectrum swatch on ebay for a couple of bucks, and the Reds sell for maybe 25% to 40% of BV.

Pay what you think it's worth. I've paid well over "book value" for Josh Johnson before. 10-30X more. If you want it bad enough, you'll pay for it :P

I didn't look it up but if the multiplier says it is 12 x 1.5 the online price guide will have it as 20

Offered him $8 and he agreed. I really wanted the card badly.
