I was checking Hartline cards and came across this sale in the completed listings.

http://cgi.ebay.com/Brian-Hartline-2009 ... 414d3ebb59

I've looked at the auction a few times - and feel I must be missing something? I guess someone REALLY wanted the first of the print run??? For reference his rc #'d 99 usually sells around $20.

Really is one of the oddest auctions I've seen - to see it that high over the usual price - maybe 2 people putting in an incorrect Snipe? Two people putting in huge snipes to not be outbid figuring they'll win around the usual price...or one doing that and then a schill bid? Or like I said, maybe I'm missing something and you can help out lol.

It is legit. It is like how first, last, and jersey numbered ones sell high for Exquisite. The JD 1/99 from NT went for more than his 1/1

That's what I figured scrolling through - that it must have been the 1/1. That's why I did a double and triple take when I saw it was simply 1/99.
Any chance it was the same buyer?

I kind of get the jersey number thing. Even then though it is usually around a 1.5x premium....never seen 6x on a 1/99. I don't even think the seller referred to it as an "Ebay 1/1" lol. Must have been happy if it is a legit sale.
