Set aside all the drama, baggage, all his past legal and ethical problems. Can Vick become Vick again. Physically can he do it. Is two years off to much to overcome.

I was never a huge fan. As a QB he was aweful but with the ball in his hands the falcons were a threat to score on every play. Can he be that x-factor again?

I hadn't put much thought into it but his interview on 60 minutes made me think. He said he is working out for the first time in his career. He admitted he never really worked out and trained when he was in college and the NFL. How good can he be if he actually trains?

I think he is better than he was before.

His personal motivation seems like it will be his guiding light back.

He's got the God given talent. That never just disappears. Joe Montana could pick up a football right now and still throw it as good as some QBs in the league.

The thing that will be rusty is his football brain. His reflexes will be off, and he may not pick up on things as quick. When he would have instinctively directed somebody right, he may now have to think about it, and won't act in time.

If he was smart, he would have stayed in top form in jail. Not only to fend off Big Bubba down in cell block 8, but to make sure he did everything he could to make sure he was ready for his release.

I'm also not sure that he'll get the playing time to return or fail at anything. McNabb is probably going to get hurt at some point though, so Vick will have his chance then. But if by some miracle, the Duck Tape holding McNabb together lasts all season, Vick will be nothing more than another backup on the sidelines with a headset on.

Voted no. Even with the Josh Hamilton type of comeback stories that happen.

I think 2 years is too much to overcome at this point. Jamal Lewis did 4 months in the federal pen over the course of an off-season and he didn't ever get back to the level of play for 2-3 years from what he displayed in the early 2000's.

Vick has done far more time than Lewis, and he plays an incredibly tougher position. I think by the time he's anywhere near his post-prison peak, he'll already be into his 30's and will not have the speed burst of the younger Michael Vick. He'll either need to better learn the duties of a regular QB, or he'll end up as a 3-5 play a game gimmick.

Of course he can "return to form" he lead the nfl in INT's and Fumbles before any of this happens so i am sure he can still be just as over rated as he was before.

Exactly. Just what does it mean to be "Vick again?" A career 53% completion rate, a so-so TD-INT rate of 71-52, no seasons with 3000 yards passing and only one with 20 TDs? Hey, I like the guy too, and I'm glad he's getting the second chance he deserves, but let's face it, he was never any better than a middle of the pack QB.

I agree. In the traditional view of the position he was a mediocre QB but he was able to make atl. a threat to score on every down and that makes for an exciting QB and fun game to watch. I really want to see him return to level of a serious starting threat, not just a decoy or gimmicky wild cat QB (it could be argued that the Vick let Atl. offence was the birth of the wild cat)

Yep. Vick is not a team quarterback. In his mind he wants to run the ball first and pass only if he has too. He wants all the glory. A quarterback(and I use that term loosely) like Vick will never lead any team to a championship in the NFL. That crap works in the college ranks but not at the professional level. He's not even good enough to be called mediocre.

He was still pretty entertaining to watch highlights of. With his ability to run, and his agility. As a QB, no he's not good. But as a highlight reel presence, he ranks up there.

I think for the dogfighting thing he should have been banned from the NFL for life as soon as he was encarcereated. Hope he caught doing something stupid again.

That being said, he'll probably bounce back and put up some respectable numbers again
