1 professional game and he's literally being compared to the greatest CF and one of the greatest players of all time? This is getting sickening.

Yea, it's gonna be hard for Willie Mays to be as good as Heyward. Poor guy.

Can I ask the following question: we are all a bunch of baseball card collectors on this forum, right? Sure, the hype is pretty intense right now, but so far Heyward has met or exceeded every expectation to deserve the hype. He wasn't supposed to break camp with the Braves so they could keep him for an extra year, but did. He wasn't supposed to be an opening day OF, but he was. He hit a 3 run HR in his first MLB at bat against one of the better pitchers in baseball. He started his first day catching the ceremonial first pitch from the greatest HR hitter ever (Hank Aaron) and ended it by going 3 for 4 with the aforementioned HR and 4 RBI in total. He's playing for a team that still gets a fare amount of media exposure, has had no reported off the field or behavioral issues, and you don't have to worry that he's actually 26 instead of 20. In short, isn't he exactly what collectors like us should be foaming at the mouth to collect, instead of taking pot-shots at?
