As well they should. The NBA would be even more pathetic than it already is if it weren't for Lebron.KOBEARODLT said:haha yeah espn drools over lebron

This is sadly the truth.

It's usually people that haven't watched the NBA lately that think it's pathetic.

I also agree with all of the picks even though I would have liked to see Wade get more votes.

Don't see how Wade got a vote and Kobe didn't....East Coast biased media![]()

Don't see how Wade got a vote and Kobe didn't....East Coast biased media![]()
Wade: 30.2/5.0/7.5 with .491 FG%, 2.2 ST, 1.3 BLK
Kobe: 26.8/5.2/4.9 with .467 FG%, 1.5 ST, and 0.5 BLK
Wade scored more, and did it with more efficiency. Rebounds are a wash, but Wade got his teammates involved more. Also, while defensive stats are limited and don't tell the whole story, Wade has the better numbers there.
Also, I would think everyone can agree that Kobe has a better supporting cast in Gasol, Odom, and Bynum (when healthy). The Heat would be near the very bottom of the league without Wade this year, and the Lakers would still probably be decent.

the Lakers would suck without Kobe....he draws attention away from guys (with the exception of Gasol) who would just be average at best on other teams....Kobe is the only reason you can say the name Odom or Bynum.......those guys SUCK! and I disagree with you on the efficiency....while his % is greater it's by 3/10's which is nothing......also....Wade doesn't average that much more a game then Kobe who has played 3 more games total then Wade has.

you're right, the % isn't a huge deal. Wade only hit about 54 more shots on around 30 more attempts. I would think it's worth mentioning in the discussion though.
I guess what I'm trying to point out is that the numbers are better in almost every category. They're so close and you look at a team like LA with the guys I mentioned vs the team Miami has and Wade means more to that team.
Gasol: 18.9
Bynum: 14.3
Odom: 11.3
Beasley (Rookie): 13.8
O'Neal/Marion: 13.0/12.0
Haslem: 10.6
I would say Wade has the same effect on his supporting cast as Kobe has on his, so it's harder for me to say that the supporting cast is worse than Miami's but Kobe inflates their numbers to look better. I only get to watch the Lakers and Heat when they are a national broadcast or are playing the Celts so I only have the numbers to look at. I can see it being a toss up, but I'd understand either perspective on it and definitely wouldn't fault someone for voting Wade over Kobe.
Tomlinson21RB said:The reason I'm comparing supporting casts is because one way to look at MVP is by numbers (Wade in my opinion has a slight edge there) and then value to his team. I have no way to back this up, and I don't think anyone else does either, but I personally feel that Miami would be a much worse team without Wade and the Lakers would be worse but not terrible without Kobe. So in my opinion that makes Wade more valuable to his team than Kobe to his. Yes, it's kind of a silly way to justify it but the numbers and the value are the only two ways I can think of to determine MVP.
I'm not saying I'd have a problem with Kobe coming in 2nd because he's right there with Wade. I'd personally vote for Wade, but it's completely understandable to go the other way.
So let me ask you, if you can't look at supporting casts and Wade has better numbers then why is Kobe more valuable?
Edit: Thanks for posting on the basketball boards lately. I enjoy good debates/discussions like this.
