I don't think the youngins know what Caldor was! I used to get a ton of stuff there, especially those blister packs with a dozen or so modern-at-the-time (1996-1998) packs. Loved them.

My local KMart used to carry TONS of older boxes as well, ranging from $9.99 up to $29.99 for the real high end stuff (1998 Leaf R&S, etc.). I've always wondered what happened to those boxes; when the store near me closed, they were still selling those.

My Kmart used to have those too. I remember getting full boxes 36 pack of 1995 Topps Traded for $9.99. They had so much stuff that I passed on kind of regret not grabbing more stuff.

I had gotten my stepfather into collecting cards around that time (which I later heavily regretted), and he bought me a ton of those various boxes. I remember busting a 1995 Traded box, as well as a 1994 Sportflics R/T box. Pulled that ARod Starflics card, which I wish I had a few years back when they used to sell for a few hundred! I wish there were stores that sold boxes like these, that is what I miss most about the hobby.

Back in the late 90s, I used to love checking out that k Mart section you guys are talking about.

They had a display with sections and each part was priced, which generally always contained sealed boxes.

I remember buying 90/91 ud hockey and putting them out for $1 a pack.

I also recall picking up fleer emotions and fleer XL boxes.

At Rackafratz in Salem, OR the shop owner would actually write the price of the card in pencil on the back of the card. That was probably 1982.

I used to go to rackafratz I pre ordered my 1989 upper deck boxes from there, I got two Dale Murphy reverse negatives out of those boxes. I sold one for $175 and still have the other one. Guess I should have sold it but my twelve year old self wasn't too savy, I remember paying $2.50 for a 1988 topps Sam Horn, after he hit a bunch of home runs in one game I think.

MOST Autograph Redemptions use to be the actual cards with a hole punched in them, and you only had about a year to redeem them via Snail Mail

There are two in the city of milwaukee every month and they are always crowded. One has an auction where you can pick up some really cool peices here and there...

I have not been to either show in years and wouldnt mind getting back there soon. Which one do you feel is better?

1995 Score
[h=3]Contest Redemption[/h] These two cards were mailed to collectors who correctly identified intentional errors in print ads for 1995 Score. The ads appeared in Beckett Baseball Card Monthly and other Hobby publications.

Years ago, my first move into the online card trading game was on a site called Quantumlink using my Commodore computer. You had to use a device called a modem with your phone line and it squeaked and squawked while going thru the connection process. It would take probably 3-4 minutes just to get logged on, everything was real slow but it was the only game in town. If somebody else in the house picked up the phone to make a called then you got booted off and lost your connection. With a little patience you could get to the message boards and try to work deals.
