I also follow you on Facebook (Darron Hicks) I post all the time. As I haves aid before you are my favorite sports artist and I would love to one day own one of your smaller pieces like 8x10/11x14 something that size but I dont think I can afford it. Your attention to detail is unreal and amazing.

I have bugged Graig for at least a few years now to produce prints, lithos and anything else that would bring his work to the general public. Hopefully someday this will happen!!

Just another hint in your ear Graig!!

Thanks again for the kind words, guys.

Though there aren't any immediate plans for prints at the moment, my agent did tell me a few days ago that sometime next year, he's going to start putting together resources to have a coffee table book printed. So, when/if it becomes a reality (which I'm definitely hoping for), I'll certainly let everyone know.

Darron, I think I'll actually be posting a small painting of Pujols in the next few weeks. Well, probably not a completed one, but something in-progress. If you're indeed a big collector of him, I'm going to look forward to your comments - lots of pressure to get it right!!

Just wondering about how much would a painting the Pujols size cost? I seriously love your work, it is just amazing how much detail goes into them. I will for sure comment on it. I believe you are one of the best sports artist I have ever seen and would love to own a piece of your work someday!!

Did you find a bigger pic of the Ripken I sent you? My mom said you are an amazing talent but you need one of Cal and I told her I think he saw your post. She was excited and can't wait to see what you come up with should you chose to paint Cal!!!

I love the photo-realism! Doesn't seem like a drawing to me for many of those examples!

I would settle for buying a calendar depicting his work (and drop buying the annual ballpark calendars that feature illustrations of various artists' artwork).

I figured it up a while back. I think it was in the $100's per square inch.

Thanks for those kind words, TBTwinsFan and rsmath!

I didn't find a larger shot of that Ripken image, Chris. Though, I'm hoping with some diligence, I can track it down. I actually did see your mother's comment and it definitely got me wondering why I hadn't completed a painting of the great man yet. I do have one Orioles painting on the site, though - one with Brooks Robinson, McNally and Etchebarren, after the last out of the '66 World Series. But yeah, hopefully I'll get some other birds in there soon!

Hey guys,

Hope you all had a wonderful holiday and are looking forward to the start of 2012.

I think my New Years resolution is to get the majority of the unfinished paintings out of my studio (especially those that were commissioned).

Here are a few newer ones that have either left, or are ready to leave...

Johnny_Evers_1907_Portrait.jpg

Johnny Evers, 1907, 16" x 20"

Babe_Ruth_1918_Holding_Bat_Comiskey.jpg

Babe Ruth, 1918, 30" x 34"

Babe_Ruth_1924_Portrait.jpg

Babe Ruth, 1924, 16" x 20"

Babe_Ruth_1934_November_4_Japan.jpg

Babe Ruth, November 4, 1934, 50" x 64"

Lou_Gehrig_1938_Fenway_Glove.jpg

Lou Gehrig, 1938, 18" x 24"

Stan_Musial_1942_Portrait_Conlon.jpg

Stan Musial, 1942, 16" x 20"

Jackie_Robinson_1949_August_28_Walk.jpg

Jackie Robinson, August 28, 1949, 46" x 56"

Gary_Carter_Mets_1986_October_25.jpg

Mets, October 25, 1986, 30" x 45"

And man, I never realized how much Evers looks like Stan Laurel in that image. What a jaw that man had!!

Anywho, I hope y'all dig 'em. And if ya do, come check me out on Facebook, too! Comments/crits/laughs/stories are ALWAYS appreciated.

Hey all,

Hope everyone's been doing well so far this new year.

I thought I'd post some stuff I just got back from the photographers in the past few weeks. I think it might mark my first sharing of work since December, so I figured I was off of my pace!

Before I show it, I just wanted to send a HUGE 'thank you' for all of you guys on the board for giving me so much support over the past few months, whether it's been through sales, scans, advice or encouragement. It's really meant the world to me - probably in ways I could never really articulate.

Anywho, I hope you enjoy!

Mickey_Mantle_1955_August_7_Panoramic.jpg

Certainly, any comments or crits are ALWAYS welcomed. And, I do have plenty of stuff that's in-progress too, which I'd be glad to post if y'all are interested.

Thanks again,

Graig

Just out of curiosity only (because I know I would never be able to afford one), what would an 18x24 piece cost? Do you have different pricing for painting an existing shot vs. painting something custom?

Thanks for the compliments, guys! I'll try and post the other in-progress stuff today.

mjbuchanan80, I'd have to get back to you on the prices of the 18" x 24"s, though I think it's around the 4k range. My agent actually just prices everything out relative to the size of the piece. They're set figures for the smaller images (9"x12", 11"x14", etc.), but after those, they get priced out by the square inch. If you'd like to know the price of a particular size, just drop me a line and I'll ask Dean.

Thanks again!!!
