I went to a stopped by a local card show this weekend hoping to pick up some commons to get signed at Piratefest. I ended up pretty disappointed on that regard, as all the guys that usually have a decent array of commons weren't there, and there were only maybe 7 or so deadlers total. However, I think my other pickups more than make up for it. I was able to pick up some nice Pirates vintage and numbered inserts. For the two biggies I picked up, scroll to the end of the post.
I found the Santana in a $1 box. I don't follow non-Pirate prospects too closely, but I know Santana is pretty highly regarded. Plus, I love the Razor Metal cards, and at that price it was too good to pass up. I've been looking to pick up a Maz RC to get signed at Piratefest for about a month now, getting barely outbid on ebay more than once. This one isn't in great condition, but I was able to get it for significantly lower than they go for on ebay.
Last, but certainly not least, my first Crusade. I wish it was a Pirate, but I can certainly see why people love these! I'll probably hold on to it for the time being, but I'd be willing to listen to offers on the Santana and Crusade should anyone be interested.
The best part? I spent a total of $24 at the show.
