I can't say I am surprised, because his talent has been MUCH higher than his prices.

But from the offseason -

Refractor autos have gone from $19/$22 to $46 today

Blue refractor autos jumoed from $40 to $95 recently

Base Chrome autos were $13/15 - one is at $32 with 15 minutes left

Are people finally catching on that this guy is a complete stud? I picked him pre-season as my minor league player of the year, but I have a feeling he won't be in the minors long enough to win.

I was REALLY hoping that it would have taken longer before his stuff started to take off like it is. I'm glad that I was able to stock up on him while I could but another month of buying at his old prices would've been great.

His Sterling Autos are climbing as well. Not too long ago, I was picking those up at $15 or less.

I thought long and hard about buying into him during the offseason, but after considering LaPorta's fall from majesty in the card world once he was traded to Cleveland, I decided against it.

Santana is a beast though, about time his card prices started to reflect that. I wonder if they will hold at this level or if they will fall a bit once he stops hitting a homerun per game.

I am VERY glad I started buying into him about 3 months ago. Grabbed my first two Blue ref autos at $40, and then $50 on the other two. Landed (12) Refractor autos averaging $20 a piece. The guy is just TOO GOOD for his cards to be cheap. I am convinced he will be a better player than Posey, and eventually will outsell him also.

I remember pulling a Santana refractor autograph and being epically pissed at what they were going for.

It made no sense at all that they were so cheap. It was the easier purchases I have ever made. A top 10 prospect in baseball for peanuts? Just didn't add up.

I hope he keeps it up, I am loaded with Sterling!! I particularly made a point to buy ones with a 10 auto, which are pretty rare. Hoping that and the fact that it was his only RC auto would be a good investment.

I tracked the first 340 base autos listed on ebay. Of those, 49 appeared to be 10 auto, the rest had no chance. Of those 49, 35 had obviously poor centering. I kept track of the refractors of all colors too, have it down somewhere and I believe even worse on those.

I've seen him play 3 of the 4 games so far and it is ridiculous. He doesn't really look the part, but he's crushing the ball. I hope he sticks around for a while yet, both for the fun of watching but also for long term development.

I agree on all counts. He was one of the three primary guys I was stocking up on for this year. Based on his latest uptick in prices, it looks like that may be done. Now I just need to figure out someone to fill the buying-void he leaves. Unfortunately there just aren't that many "no-brainer" buys like he was, at least not that I'm aware of.

Heres to hoping I pull a Santana auto in the 3 boxes I ordered of 09 BC. Opened up a box just a few days ago and pulled a Freddie Freeman Xfractor auto. Bought the last 3 from the same guy to see what else there might be. paid 43.95 with free shipping per box.

I was looking into him near the end off the off-season and decided that I would see how he did for a few games before I bought into him

Makes me wish I'd held onto the superfractor a little longer, but I can't complain about what it sold for.

Has anyone seen a Chrome Auto of him that didn't veer off to the right border?

I'd have to think it would fetch a premium.

Nope. Most of them have both the T and the A trail off the right side. Saw one that had both that BGS still gave a 10 for the auto.

Well, I was the sucker that picked up this one.

It's on the border but not veering off all the way. I'm assuming if graded, it should be a 10 auto. I had a high snipe since this is one of the few centered copies to pop up as of late. If the guy is going to be a MLPOY contender, his Chromes autos right now are still a steal.

At the Stratford Ct. show a few months back, one of my customers set up and he had a monster box full of dime BC cards. Hes very very very unorganized to say the least and while I was going through the box, I found 2 BC Santana's.........AUTOGRAPHS.

Kiddingly, I told him I owe him 20 cents and showed him the cards.
I wound up buying them for about $10 per in the end and thankfully no one else before me saw them.
