Carlos Santana to have season-ending surgery

Santana is having surgery on his left knee tomorrow (lateral collateral ligament) at the Cleveland Clinic. The good news is that he is only expected to need 4-6 months to recover, and will be ready to start the 2011 season from the outset. Could have been MUCH worse considering the way things looked on Monday night.

could have been much worse. Hopfully he can come back strong next season.

I know it is instinctive to act the way he did, however under the circumstance would a veteran catcher have laid himself out like that so vulnerable?

Glad C-sant is going to be back for the start of the season.

All things considered, this was probably the best case scenario. I'm already looking forward to next season...
