i would say nets would be a pretty good team getting melo paired up with lopez and harris but looks like they have to get rid of harris in the deal...expect melo to score ALOT of points on that team as he will be the only real offensive force besides lopez

Melo will put up huge stats for the Nets but I don't see them improving a whole lot record wise with just Melo and Brook Lopez. Giving up Harris and Favors will probably prohibit them from improving much, but if it means getting Melo I guess you gotta go for it.

i guess the plan (i think next summer but it may be after that) is for them to sign cp3

What do you think this will do for the value of his rookie autos?

up

this is too bad. i have a bet with my friend about the upcoming seasons nba standings, a little complicated for me to describe and im too tired to write it all out but basically you we each picked the east and west standings and whoever is closest based on our formula wins. i was high on denver and had them at number 2. they will be lucky to make the playoffs now

Indirectly - if this move does go down I think Durant should be the happiest person in the NBA.
I know I keep talking about him - but when I was thinking about this move the other night - I couldn't help but think how wide open this move leaves the West and how stacked the Eastern Conference is becoming.

San Antonio and LA - the traditional powers are coming to the ends of their runs. Denver, Phoenix, Utah have lost big pieces. There are some other western teams with young talent - like the Clippers, Grizzlies - that could bust through, but it really seems to be setting up where OKC is going to have a heck of a shot at the Finals every year.

The East is going to be ridiculous - Miami. Boston and Orlando still solid. Chicago. And now potentially the Nets with Anthony and rumors they could go after Paul. And that doesn't even take into account the Knciks that are hell bent on bringing in super-stars (see if it comes to fruition). The way it's going - I think I'd feel blessed if I was playing on a good team in the West. But that's just my .02.

Terrible trade on nets part :?

joking obviously right?

I wouldn't say it's a terrible trade but Denver is definitely making out big. If it's the same deal that I read on Friday. Denver gets Favors, next years 1st, 2012 conditional from my pathetic Warriors, and AK47.
